Cyclist killed after being hit by car
    07:25 AEST Fri Apr 29 2005
    AAP
A man has been killed and a woman injured in separate accidents in
    south-east Queensland.

Police said a 45-year-old male cyclist was struck by a car at Yandaran,
45kms north of Bundaberg, around 8.10pm (AEST) Thursday.

He was taken to Bundaberg Hospital but died overnight.

In another accident, a 44-year-old woman motorcyclist was seriously injured
after falling off her motorcycle on Mt Cotton Road in the southside Brisbane
suburb of Salisbury around 10.45pm Thursday.

She was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital with head injuries and
    fractures.

  2. I think a cyclist was hit on Telegraph Road Bracken Ridge in Brisbane yesterday too...anyone know anything?

Came past about 6am but the cyclist was in the ambulance and they weren't rushing to get away. Police were interviewing a motorist but don't know what had happened. Didn't get a real good look at the bike but from where I was it appeared undamaged...blue FELT I think.

    Hope the rider is ok.

    Thanks for that.

I used to ride that road twice a week. Scary. Am getting coach to look
    into who it was.

Good news, on that one osc:

I checked with Coach and yep, it's one of the ProCoach Triathletes.
"Telegraph Rd" and "Felt" just screamed ProCoach. The cyclist is okay and
in Richard's words "he'll live to race another day."

  6. Hi Tam,

Thanks for that information. Very, very glad to hear that the cyclist is ok.

I ride that road several times a week, in the opposite direction to the guy who was hit and the shoulders are not very bike friendly. Hope the motorist, if he was at fault (better be totally objective!), gets his just desserts.
