wet you get -- a fact I've empirically known for years.
Of course that only works with airborne rain, not
standing water on the ground.

Your description is reminding me of last November, when
fallen tree leaves were clogging the storm drain grates.
Horse chestnut leaves are particularly nasty for that.

I wish I could lend you my magic helmet cover. Just
put it on your helmet and it stops raining.

70 degF and sunny here in juneau, alaska... trees fully leafed
out in 4 days, tulips & daffs are blooming.

As it pertains to cycling here's something I learned a while
back. When you ride hard you get wet (from sweat). So does it really
matter if your wet from rain or sweat? Especially when your doing a
long ride. At some point you'll get as wet as you can get and no
wetter. :-)

We learned this the year we trained for a double century in all sorts
of weather. We were all proud of ourselves as we figured we were ready
for anything. We trained in drizzle, cool rain (60's F) and
thunderstorms. The day of the event we got a tropical storm with lots
of rain. We hadn't trained for that but we did enjoy it (80's F), For
some reason we lucked out and didn't get the wind that usually is
associated with a tropical storm.

Well, it cleared up this afternoon and stopped raining, but it was
also accompanied by very strong winds- just walking was like being in
a wind tunnel. Tomorrow morning looks okay as well, but alas, more
rain in the afternoon.

LOL, funny that it's warmer in ALASKA! I remember once watching a
baseball game and realizing that it was as warm here as it was in
Atlanta.In July!
