tight rope

I would LOVE to try tightrope unicycling.

No video, but Circus Oz had it when they visited the UK about 5 years
ago.

It was very impressive, not least because:

- The male rider was wearing a pink Tu-tu (spelt wrong?)
- Two women, in leather, were snapping whips at him
- The tight rope appeared to be on fire (although this was a secondary
cord hanging below the support wire)

and finally the wheel was on fire!

If only I had a video of this...

Been there, done that. I almost tried the slackrope, but I couldn't
mount. The tightrope I was using was rather slack, so the hardest part
was managing the oscilations. It was also only about 14' long, so I
could only do about 2-3 revs (i forget which). It felt as easy, if not
easier than rail riding.

Speaking of oscilations, one of the most difficult rails I've done is
the metal one that wobbles in the end of my big movie. The thing is,
your movement gets it going but then once it starts wobbling it has
enough momentum (or interia...I've forgotten what I learned in high
school physics) to throw you off your line. In the clip in my movie I
make the line (although I wanted to drop onto the wooden log and ride
that) but in the failed attempts I ride it much slower and it wobbles
MUCH more. Good fun! 🙂
