By: Michael Garrigan
The US trade show Interbike will donate around $300,000 in cash and over
$50,000 worth of trade show support to U.S. advocacy groups and educational
associations over the course of 2005.
Groups like Sprockids, International Mountain Biking Association, the League
of American Bicyclists, Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, Mountain Bike Hall of
Fame, Trips for Kids, Adventure Cycling Association, Bikes Belong and the
National Bicycle Dealers Association will benefit from Interbike's
philanthropy.
Interbike's donations will help these nonprofit groups to achieve goals at
the local and national level through free exhibit space, financial
assistance, discounted advertising opportunities, meeting space and
complimentary guest passes to the Interbike Expo.
"Interbike is dedicated to programs that enhance the cycling experience or
help introduce potential buyers to the joys of cycling," said Lance
Camisasca, Interbike show director.
"Ultimately, we are trying to support those programs that benefit the
overall health and growth of the business and sport of cycling." Camisasca
added.
Interbike 2005 is being held at the Sands Expo, Las Vegas from Wednesday,
Sept. 26 - Friday, Sept. 30 and will include over 1,000 brands and over
10,000 buyers from around the world. There will be a two day OutDoor Demo in
