Power tap computer installation

It came with a 9pin serial port, so I bought a serial-USB connector.
when trying to d/l intervals, it says "Serial port not recognized." When I go to device manager in windows XP, there is a yellow "?" on the serial port section, but I do not know how to reconfigure this to work, and thus d/l.

Didn't the serial-USB connector come with a set of drivers? Have you tried contacting whoever sold you that serial-USB connector?

Yes, it did, and I installed it, but it still was uncooperative. I will call the company, if I can get someone there, later this week. I just thought someone might give me a play by play of how I can reconfigure it.

I think PT/Saris suggests a specific serial/usb adapter. Keyspan part #???.
What do Ric Stern's customers do in Europe for an adapter that functions??

No one has ever contacted about a serial/usb adaptor. Perhaps all Euro PC's still come with a serial adaptor??? I recently got a new funky WiFi laptop and it still had a serial adaptor.

In the US, few if any new laptops come with serial ports. I was looking hard for a mid level laptop with a serial port and the closest was a plug in card that had a serial port.
