It plugs into the end of the spindle so you can use a standard crankarm
remover when you want to remove your crankarms. Without it, the pointy
end of the crankarm remover has nothing to push against.

I see!
Thanks,

Put that in the end of the BB and use a normal crank puller..

NC,
In concurrence with other posters, the literature supplied with your
bb should've said the same thing.

Thanks Robin - Hopefully they don't let you interact with the customers at
Lickton's. You have a way of making a guy feel like $0.01.

I've been there. He's definitely a spiny old codger. Good bike gear at
good prices though.

I don't know, I met two guys when I was there. There was a tall bald
guy about 60 who was the spiny old codger I was referencing, then there
was a shorter somewhat younger guy with more hair who was definitely
more a people person. The old guy warmed up considerably after I bought
$300 worth of various bike gear. I've used your mail order service a
few times and it was exceptionally good.

No, not at all. I don't mind cantankerous people. It shows they have
some character. Sometimes people who are superficially nice are in fact
the most self-centered people of all.
