    looked all over the net but I can't seem to find the definitive wheel recommendation for a 5000mile
    trip. I need something more reliable than Mavic MA3 (ok but not good enough), C'mon guys , save me
    some time and tell what I should buy, And where from would be helpful...

    price no object - just the right wheels needed..Ordering tonight.

    Mavic T520 laced to shimano rear hubs(if 130mm) or MTB hubs if 135mm- laced three cross,
    14/15 3 cross

    OR Phil hubs, rear 40h, front 36h, laced to Velocity Dyads. 4 cross rear, 3 cross front, 14/15
    all around.

    That would be my vote as well, although I'm not the biggest fan of 40-spoke wheels, due to the
    difficulty of finding replacement rims if something goes way-wrong. On the other hand, you can
    always just buy a temporary wheel and save the hub for a later rebuild.

    Is finding the rim harder than getting the hub? My 40 hole rim has been here for a while, but the 40
    hole, 130 mm spaced Phil hub took a while to get; but it showed up on Thursday :-)
