boxer, just like Michel Decock (teams Z and GAN). Piet Liebregts (Schulte,
an Looy, Post) had been errand boy. Bahamontes' soigneur Marcelino had been
a printer. Guillaume Michels (Merckx) had made coffins. Joel Marteil
(Hinault) pastrycook. Sadi Duponchel (Anquetil) truckdriver, Devillard
(Thévénet) insurance agent. The only one I know who had some qualifications
was Pierre Viel (Speicher, Moeskops, Charles Pélissier) who had been
pharmacist's assistent ... I don't know anything of Giuseppe Leoni's
education. I don't think anybody has ever made a serious study of soigneurs
in cycling.

You mean Shelley Verses (although she has never been Anderson's soigneur)?
I've seen her a few times. She wasn't particularly beautiful, but since she
was for a long time the only women on the European racing circuit, every
rider dreamt of her. And I'm quite sure that only a very small part of all
the rumours circulating about her were true.

What happened to Andeson's first wife Anne. She was great in the Aussie
film 23 Days In July trying to slip him the tongue as she kissed him goodbye
when he was heading out to do his training.
