  1. I got myself 3 large jugs of Prolab ProWhey -- as per the recommendation
of many here, it's relatively cheap and tastes pretty good. But I've
noticed that it doesn't seem to dissolve very well in milk. I usually
blend it with milk, frozen bananas, and strawberries if I can get them.

Any suggestions for making it dissolve better? I always seem to have
some left caked on the blender pitcher. Not an emergency, but waste not,
    want not.

    Thanks in advance.

Pour it in while the blender is blending. That's what I do.

Second that. Turn on the blender, and gradually tip the powder into
the middle of the "whirlpool". I never have any problems (with Prolab)

Also, dissolve the powder *before* adding anything that's going to thicken
    the mix (bananas, etc)

    Cheers,

I'm already doing the 2nd suggestion (dissolve powder first), but I will
try starting the blender first. Thanks to the both of you.

I never make a shake without the blender, so it's never an issue. One
reason is because I always add fruit. I've had Prolab Pro before and never
had a problem. I currently use Pro-Rated from Costo, simply because it's A
    LOT cheaper. Tastes great too.

It *is* a lot cheaper, but my latest batch of Pro-Rated has been the
absolute worst blending whey protein I've ever tried. I use a "shaker"
container to mix it with orange juice, and never had any problems till
recently. Now, it clumps really badly, and sticks to the inside of the
container. I'm hoping it was just a bad batch. I'll be buying another jug
of the stuff in the next day or so, but if it's as bad as the last one, I'm
switching back to www.nutritionexpress.com (their prices, products, and
customer service have been pretty good IMO).

I've used it for over a year, no problems. Buy a blender and there is no
longer an issue. Besides, you can't do fruit with a shaker.

And speaking of fruit, try buying frozen blueberries. Toss in a couple of
handfuls, and it chills it down to almost a smoothie. Any frozen fruit
    works great.

I don't think it should require a blender. None of the other whey products
I've tried required that (I suspect a manufacturing issue). Plus, this
makes it a lot more of a hassle for me to add a scoop to my morning cereal.

As for blueberries - I love 'em, and add about a cup each morning to my
cereal. If they ever have to cut into my intestines, they'll think they're
    opening up Poppa Smurf.

I'm pleased to report that I recently purchased a new jug of the CostCo
Pro-Rated whey, and the "clumping" problem appears to have been resolved.

I suspect there was some sort of manufacturing problem with the previous
batch, because the new stuff is much finer in consistency, and blends very
easily in a shaker, or with just a spoon in my morning cereal.

And, you can't beat the price ($19.95 for 6 lbs).

Speaking of cereal, I usually do oatmeal with cranberries in the morning.
And I add a scoop of vanilla protein, then add the milk. Makes it kind of
    rich and creamy...pretty good actually.
