For those of us without cable tv, is there an online source for tdf video coverage? I go to the OLN for audio coverage but it would be great to be able to get more video than is offered by commercial tv.

Danish television live streaming as each stage is driven. Presumably theres english ones around too. (But I can't find them atm)
They also archive the audio, if you don't happen to catch it live. It loses something w/o the pictures, but better than nothing. I just can't bring myself to order Direct TV just to see the TdF, although I'm tempted.

Ah. Works now. Had to upgrade to Media Player 9. From 2 pm. to 2:15 pm its just yakking in danish in the studio.
Oh this is too good! I've been watching the vid clips but a live feed...excellent. I just wish the announcers weren't speaking Klingon ;-) bg

Ah, I misunderstood. I thought it was another audio feed. It's video? That's great! How much bandwidth would it take, do you think, to play both? I have two computers, so could run the audio on one and the Video on the other, although the scenes wouldn't quite link up. I'll try it tomorrow, thanks!
I have an ADSL with 768 download speed. They were going to give me a free upgrade to 1500 but they don't have frame relay in my area, so I'm stuck with 768 for the time being. If the video is 300 and the audio is something nominal, and I run them on different machines, I may just be able to do it.

Anyway if you got the bandwidth you can try to combine it with one of the live audio feeds in english.

The free feed is 100 Kbit/sec. Not excactly widescreen unless you press your little nose against the screen. But I got the channel on the tv anyway - klingons and all. They usually start transmission at 2 pm CET and you see the first footage from the stage at 2:20 pm. Its live. They just skip the first part of the stage.
What Brian said but small or not it got pretty good resolution and it's continuous. Neat to see the tactics play out. bill g

Well, that should be fine and I should have plenty of bandwidth, at least. I can increase the size in WMP9, although that decreases the apparent resolution. At least I won't have to squint. Thanks for the link.
Scott, That's what I did last year. Then I cancelled after 6mos. They don't call OLN "Only Lumberjack Network" for no reason. Maybe my expectations were too high but I don't have cable or watch TV anyway. I just thought "Hey, free dish(1) and tuner". Actually, what I'd pay for would be programming I could select. Watched the team time trials today. One can't read the stopclock numbers at that resolution, and I think I had to sign up for a username and password, which I did. How do you get the faster 400 Kbit/sec speed? It would be nice to have better resolution so it's easier to recognize the riders and read some of the other info since the commentary isn't synched to the picture. The OLN commentary is about a minute or so behind the video feed from TV2-DK, so it would be nice to find a commentary in english that's synched up to the video, especially if I can't get a higher res picture. Other than that it worked pretty well. A lot better than no picture. I just have to pay attention and wait for the commentary and then remember back to what I was looking at a minute ago.

Signup is not needed for the free feed. If you want the faster feed you presumably need to signup and then pay somewhere when you're logged in. If its accessible to people outside the country I dont know. I dont want to sign up because I don't need it plus I bet they send you spam if you do.
This link seems to have stopped working yesterday. Do you still get it? They may be blocking IPs in the US.

I will check tomorrow. Its on their regular channel on tv, so I don't bother with it online.
On the webpage it says they don't have capacity for more upgraded live streams atm (450 KBit/sec that you pay for) but are working on getting more capacity. Perhaps this influenced the free stream too. Will check tomorrow tho.
