Thanks, Richard and Peewiglet - I thought it was quite a hair-raising
photo. He'd probably be happy with that after his next hair cut...

I'm not sure if it's my IE settings, or my ISP (NTL) BUT if I go to
your website it doesn't show me the latest walks unless I refresh the
page several times.

I'm sure this only started happening over the last couple of weeks.

Technical glitch aside, interesting report, as in the words of Alan
Brazil "never been" to that part of the Lakes. Only driven from
Ambleside to Wasdale Head via Wrynose? and Hard Knott passes? Even
just driving the landscape blew me away. I'm inclined to agree with
the great AW, that the south-west corner of the Lakes is really the
most.....can't think of the right words but I'm sure you'll
understand...

It's something to do with certain ISP's caching web pages to make them
load quicker (Geoff C has the full story as we have talked about it
before) and I think AOL and NTL are the main culprits.

The SW corner of the Lakes is great - it's wild and rugged and more
importantly the quietest part of the Lakes. You should visit the Duddon
Valley sometime - IMHO it is without doubt the best valley in the LD.

I'm hoping (missus is keen!?!?!?!) to bring the entire tribe up to the
Lakes in early August for a week.......are you volunteering to be a
guide for said area?

No. Take them up Stickle Pike (easy), Caw (harder) and Harter Fell
(even harder, but great views of the Scafells). Then if they are really
fit to Upper Eskdale.
