Multimap alternative?

Not sure how it's better than Multimap.

For urban areas it it shows the street names OK, but little other
information e.g. locations of schools/parks whatever, and no scale
information at all - how are you supposed to know even approximately
how far it is from one place to another?

For rural areas (at least the ones I looked at in N Scotland) it's
completely useless - no contours at all, no paths marked, no natural
features except large rivers and lochs ... I could go on.

OK it's flagged as a "beta", but IMO it's got a long way to go to
match Multimap (which is not without faults of its own).

Or am I missing something?

ie no useful info other than roads - Am I missing something?

Other than Canada, Britain and US any other countries got online
topomaps? (The Canada ones are somewhat incomplete mind)

Google maps UK! "Well not bad," I thought. But zooming in reveals
that they haven't paid the O$ anything so have no topographic maps,
just road maps.

Multimap and Streetmap are still the best games in town.

Ok, this isn't a pure mapping site with the tools that they give, but I have
found the map displays on the SusTrans site useful at times, particularly as
I like to include English Heritage and National trust sites in my walks.
