The fridge had broken again[1] so I had to get the brazing kit out. And as I
was getting the kit out I thought that I may as well build the worlds best
Klick-Fix accessory.
SO what should this do? It should hold my bar bag. It should also provide a
stable platform on which to mount the lights. This allows lights to be
rapidly detatched from the bike and the battery can be kept in the bar bag.
Quite simple really. A bit of 6mm steel rod acts as the bag carrying frame
and is bent to fit. The cross part fits on the top of the klick-fix mount.
A couple of bits of 8mm tube are used for the bar support, the bar being
about 20cm of an old handlebar. These are sized to fit around the bottom of
my Agu camera bar bag and fit the vertical slots of the klickfix mount. A
small piece of 6mm rod then bridges the two uprights and fits the locking
clip.
So, no more wingeing about the Minoura space grip not staying where I want,
the lights are now much lower, doubling the angle to my eyes and increasing
the shadow cast on the road.
Very pleased with it so far. Jpgs may follow in due course thought the
brazing is not what one woudl call 'precision engineering'.

[1] broken hinge at the bottom of the door. Its more fun to play with
combustible gasses and molten metal than to pay 25 quid for the replacement
part.
