Right i've started back cycling after a few years away (10 ish) and during the winter i've been wearing an Assos top (nice and warm and windproof). But now the weather is slowly getting warmer so i'm gonna have to go back to the normal jerseys which aren't windproof. Thing is years ago i was told to put some newspaper up your jersey to keep the wind out is this still true or what ? I do a lot of cycling up hills and i'm thinking that when i'm coming down the hill if i don't have a newspaper up my jersey the wind chill would be too much and might even give me a cold. Also not many summer jerseys seem to be windproofed.
try a gillet over your jersey. It's like a sleeveless top, windproof at the front, mesh back. Keeps the wind off your front and is small enough to fit in a back pocket rolled up if you get too warm. I just got a lusso one- reasonable price (but more than a newspaper, and you cant read it either!)😄
Cool thanks again will have to look into getting one, one more question if ya is it possible to wear these gillets under jerseys, say on coolish days i'd have a vest, short sleeve jersey and then a long sleeve jersey on top. Would it be possible to wear the gillet between jerseys?
See only problem with a gillet is getting one that matches my current jerseys, hence i was asking what about wearing it underneath.

Like the idea of a Assos vest as i said i already have the airblock jacket but i haven't managed to find an airblock vest on the net yet. And i'm assuming they're expensive?
Did he say a newspaper up his jersey? Lol It cuts the wind factor, that is so funny. I wouldn't want the dirty ink all over me but I guess that would work. I think I like the idea of the air block vest better. It is funny though to think about slipping a newspaper in there. I guess when you can't stand the chill. Its like what homeless do.
