  1. I used to run alot everyday for about a year. I had to take some time
off from running due to a leg injury. I'm trying to get back into
running again, but I'm having a very diffuclt time trying to motivate
myself to get out the door.

    Anyone have any motivation suggestions?

Don't feel like you have to run every step. Just get yourself out the door,
start out by walking, then run when you feel like it, walk when you feel
like it. Never make it a punishment. Even after you're back into it a while,
if you feel flat on a particular day, don't hesitate to walk some. Sometimes
do something else besides running, like bike riding or roller blading.
    Variety makes it more fun.

  3. These may help:
    * find a running friend and schedule some joint training runs.

    * Announce your planned runs (whether with or without partners) to
spouse, family, coworkers, and friends. (heck, post them here and
we'll heckle you for not doing a planned run.)

    * find and join a running group/club that meets regularly.

And as Iggy says, you are in recovery mode. You need to be even more
cautious than a beginner. Getting out the door is the hard part though.

    Enjoy the run,
    Ed

Find a nice trail with easy footing and good scenery. Start walking to
warm up, then easy run - singing "zippety do daah" if you have to to
keep it easy, then walk when needed, etc. On 2nd thought, that may not
be the best song to start with since you may get carried away and go too
long or fast, but you get the idea.

    Dot
warm, sunny, snow melting, mud drying a little - a zippety-do-daah day

    about ourselves" - Owen Anderson

  5. Walk up to a cop and call him/her a fascist pig, and then lift your nose
with your finger and make snorting sounds............you'll be running
    in no time.
