I've had a bike with Ultegra levers for a couple years and I'm swapping
out the bars.
I opened the brakes, pressed in the levers, and looked for the bolt
inside that would loosen the strap as in older (down tube shifting)
designs. No go -- I couldn't find the bolt.
Anyone care to inform me how to remove the levers from the bars?

Lift the front edge of the rubber cover on the
outside edge of the shifter. I think it's a 5mm
and a long wrench is helpful.
