I e-mailed my father Andy Muzi's note re: delrin bearings in headsets from Harken Yacht fittings and I got this response from one of his co-workers:
"My brother, Pat [Pat Lob], used a Big Bullet sheave as his lower derailleur cog back in the early eighties when Harken sponsored him. Worked great and Harken got some R & D value out of it. Perhaps we could try the cam cleats as toe clips."

Killer fast and it takes college athletes to sail and keep upright at least half the time.
Hey I sailed it for 6 years with my wife who weighted 150 with a weight vest until she quit and I got a bigger crew. I weigh 145 so went minimum weight on the boat and use finess, lotsa finess ...I can sometimes plane upwind wouldja believe.
I grew up mainly sailing scows until I was 12 and then we got a Windsurfer. Then a Vanguard courseboard, then a hydrofoil for the Windsurfer - now that was fun. Never totally got the hang of it but the brief rides above the waves were amazing.
505 is nice, 470 is nice, Laser is a blast. No mono-hull is faster than an A scow though (except iceboats of course). IIRC, Peter Barrett's kids actually waterskied behind one on a honkin' day.
