  1. Hi urc(k?)ers,

About a month ago, I got an all singing, all dancing Palm Zire 72 which
amongst other things will let me record videos. So I had this idea of
mounting the Palm on the handlebars of my bike and recording a video of what
I see while riding and giving a running commentary.

The snag is, I don't know how I can mount the Palm on my handlebards. Does
anyone know if there are special mounts for this purpose, or can anyone
    suggest an ingenious home-brewed solution?

    TIA,

Haven't had a lot of experience of doing this myself, but I think you'll
find the vibrations through the handlebars will make it unwatchable. I have
seen someone who attached a video camera to a big h*lm*t with a counter
balance on the other side. I'd consider something along those lines as your
body is a great shock absorber

You could store a video camera in a camelbak and linked to a small helmet
mounted camera. I quite fancy having a go at this myself but there's one
small problem.....I don't wear a helmet! A couple more sites with video
    footage:

There are also very small camera heads which can attach to your helmet
or to your glasses, with a cable down to a battery/processor/media pack
    mounted on your belt.

Thanks for the video site, Peter. I have to say, I cannot imagine what could
motivate the riders to do some of the downhills shown in the video - just
looking at them makes me sick with vertigo. But they are a great way to
experience the thrill of the ride from the comfort of my armchair.

I gaffa-taped my dad's camera to my knuckle. I fell off an hour later .. and
the results were pretty [censored]. You do, however, get a cameo performance by me

p.s. don't worry, the camera was fine when I fell off. I rolled left to make
    sure it was!

Not 100% sure as yet because I haven't really looked into it but I would
imagine just a digital video camera, a helmet camera and a lead to connect
the two and of course some sort of power supply. Also software for editing
etc. Here's a couple of links that might help after a search on Google:
