SRM Installation-Tips?

Thanks Ric! All this seems very complex-I'm starting to think I've gotten myself into very deep water. Thank goodness I've got a good mechanic-all this calibration, etc., is clearly beyond me.

a mechanic may or may not know what they are doing with the calibration (nothing against mechanics, it just may be out of their usual job decsription)

personally, i feel that a 32 point calibration check is essential

Ric-I don't dispute you for a moment-who would be competent to do this calibration?

i took your advice and checked the slope and it was over 7% different from what SRM had. They recommend that you send it back if it is over 5% different. I have had my srm for about 4 months.

Is it uncommon for the slope to change that much.

not for the Amateur, and possibly not for the Pro. i'd be inclined to check it again, once you get it back, and then keep checking it very regularly to see how/if it drifts. if it's an Amateur and it was mine i'd likely check it monthly.

Do you repeat it three times or just 32 different positions one time each? About how much delta between this and the SRM static test spec?
