Hi. I recently bought a 22.5(57.15 cm) Trek 7300 with 700 cm wheels for recreational use. If I were to get into a road racing bike someday, would I get a the same size frame as my hybrid also or would I use something more like a 60 cm?
I'm 6'2" and have an inseam of about 34". Thanks😕 🙂
I'm 5' 11" with a 32.5" inseam and the 58cm was just right, 60cm was OK, but maybe a little too big. I would say that as you are that little bit bigger than me the 60 would be your minimum size. Go and try one out at your LBS
Don't want to say this definitely but I agree with Srodders...the bike sounds small. I am just a bit shorter than you with longer legs and I measure around 60 cm C-t-T and I ride a 61 on the edge of acceptablity for top tube length which I mitigate with a nominal stem length. Do a search for a couple of web based computer programs for fitting and see how you measure. They are pretty accurate typically and based upon all the poor fitting going on by LBS's would say more accurate than most.. After doing so, I would make another visit to your LBS and confront them in particular if you are a recreational rider and feel cramped on the bike as you may appreciate a slightly bigger frame. BTW 700C wheels are not 700 cm. The C is a serial reference only. HTH, George
