I am riding a marin rift zone 1999. I recently had my rear wheel stolen while i was having lunch. I have since replaced the wheel and have just fitted a new cassette. The previous cassette was a 7 speed shimano. The new one i have is an eight speed shimano which is compatible with my new wheel. Can anyone tell me if this will work on my bike? What adjustments will i need to make to get this running smoothly?

If you have a 7 sp. shifter, you might want to get a 9 sp. if you can't get the 7 sp. to go through all the gears. And make sure the chain is compatable. (HG or IG)
They should have sold you a 7, they still come in cassette and spin on. I have a spare 7 speed spin-on.
