Servicing Fox Forks

My guess is that it's some sort of lightweight fork suspension oil which, as
you mention, is much cheaper at the local motorcycle shop. The trick is
knowing what weight you need. There's a big difference between 5 and 10 wt
oil and it will significantly affect the performance of the shock. From
your footnote (why a footnote?) it seems your seals need to be replaced as
well. I presume you were planning to do that, but thought I'd throw it in
just in case.

Disclaimer: I don't know anything about Fox forks, so anything I may have
said above could be completely off the mark. 🙂

But is it really worth saving a few dollars to rebuild a $700 fork? It
gives me piece of mind to use Fox oils and parts. Their seal kits are
only $15 and include crush washers. The oil is way too expensive at
$25 per bottle (one liter I think).
