  1. Just in case folks had forgotten (I had) news.individual.net goes
off-line to non-subscribers in 7 days time. Just coughed up my 10 euros
to enable me to keep annoying everyone here for another 12 months. Worth
it at half the price ;-)

I guess if you can navigate your way through a Polish only website to
    register it might.

Blimey, first time I've tried in over 18 months, but the NTL news
server has improved a bit. Time to come home for a while.

Sorry, you can't get rid of me that easily ;-)

I moved to news.individual.net after hearing good reports here, but with
due respect I haven't notice any major improvement so it will be back to
see how my ISP is faring.

I've always used my ISP. Over several ISPs.

The great thing about news is that it's no big deal if you do miss a
bit. It's designed that way. Serious outages are annoying, but not
    exactly critical.

And my current ISP seems as good as any I've used. At least since
open access to uni-stuttgart in the mid-90s (when the local feed was
a sick joke after we moved off BITNET, so I did go for an external
    server).

Yes, I've been using NTL for text groups for about a year and they're
really pretty good. They have a fairly decent binary feed too, which
    is surprising.

    5. Click 'akceptuje'
    6. If your login is already chosen, now you will be asked to change it. You
had better chose one of the proposed, then click 'akceptuje'.

    Twoj adres pocztowy: [email hidden]
    Serwer poczty przychodzacej: pop3.poczta.gazeta.pl
    Serwer poczty wychodzacej: smtp.poczta.gazeta.pl

Just to update it, if I'm right about this [never signed up myself]:

    Quoted message said:

    1. Go to www.gazeta.pl
    2. Click 'usenet' icon

It's not an icon anymore, it's the "Usenet" item in a list about 2/3 of
    the way down the page.

    [snip useful destructions]

At the bottom, below the "Zainteresowania" section (which you can
ignore), is a standard anti-bot thing, where you enter in the box the
word you can see in the image above; below that is the usual terms-and-
conditions thing to tick and accept.
