I'm looking for an inexpensive road bike for my father. He won't be doing a great deal of riding in the future, so it's not worth spending a fortune on a bike for him. His intent is to do some training and ride the Great Vic. Bike Ride with my brother and myself.
I've got an old Apollo Vitesse (about 12 years old) i was going to upgrade for him but the cost to get it up to a decent level would be within a couple of hundred of a new lower end one and i imagine it still wouldn't be as good as even the bottom of the range current bike.
I was thinking about the following:- Felt F90 Giant OCR3
He's never going to wear it out so durability is not a problem, and i already have a decent bike (Gitane Mach 2200) so it will probably either collect dust for a few years or go on E-Bay once he decides he's too old to keep up with us.
