  1. I weighed in at 159 lbs this morning.
So far I have noticed no drop in strength as my bench continues to do
quite well in recovery. My shoulder is finally starting to see some
progress after a year and a half almost.
My squat is way down but that is pain more than weakness although I do
have to retrain the leg on which the operation was performed.
Apparently a lateral release of the kneecap is not something from
which you just bounce back. I had my last follow up this week with the
surgeon and he says it is coming along well. He also says I need a
bike of some kind which in Winnipeg in March means stationary. He said
not to buy a new one, either borrow or at most get a used one as there
    are tons around.

Still, there you have it. It's exactly 2 months since I started
tracking on FitDay and a couple or so more since I started.
My original weight fluctuated between 171 and 175 with 173 the norm.
That in itself isn't bad except I had been unable to work out in over
a year so it was all moving to the centre.
Lots of people are making jokes about me trying to attain my "birth
weight" but I knwo I felt best when I was between 150 and 155 so that
is where I wasnt to be.
If I am in shape at 150-155, my pant size should be between a 30 and
32 waist instead of the 34 that was getting tight.
My cholesterol should be back in the good range and my joints will be
better off with less weight on them.

Maybe I'll compete in the 148 lb weight class.

I made 188 myself Bob. I credit Fiday as well. In fact, I was under 188
yesterday. I'm going to keep cutting another five or so. Strength isn't
increasing, but it's not dropping either. I'm happy with that for now. BF
was 12.5 two lbs ago, which was on 3/7/05. I've been dropping 1 lb per week
consistantly for the last two months.

Yup. I've competed a couple of times at 181 but that was for meets

Once I did it to break a provincial bench record.

If the knee comes back I might do a full meet in the fall, if not a

Strength is about the same. I still have a way to go in the deadlift,
the squat bites right now but that is functionality or lack thereof.
The bench should be okay no problem

Speaking of which, how tall are you?

    I'm a smidge over 5'7"

I guess if you're really lean, it wouldn't be so bad. I'm about 5'8"
myself @ 187 right now. And best I can tell, body fat is around 17%.
If I could lose 20 lbs now, and it be all fat, I'd be pretty damn
    happy with that.

Over in my new Endurance-Weenie community I ran across someone whining
because they've been losing inches but not losing weight. Newbie gains
are a gift from the gods, aren't they? Even really stupid people get
    them... once.

I find that radical changes in my workout routine helps to partition the
weight loss more towards fat. That tends to mean picking up a new sport
every few months. I'm either flightly or getting a pretty good athletic
    repertoire.

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of that isn't just some unused
muscles getting a little bulk from the change in routine. Me, I'll
get bored (or injured) and stay away from some exercise for a while.
And then later I'll rotate back to doing it again. I think last time
I got bored with deads because I got stuck at about 395 and never
could get past the hump. I'm hoping when I start back that I'll be
able to make some gains again, and maybe even some lean mass.

I noticed during "The Biggest Loser" that most of the women lost
plenty of weight but almost nothing in terms of bodyfat%.
Meanwhile most of the men lost not only weight but reduced their
    bodyfat% considerably as well.
No prize for guessing which group loked better.
They all looked better than the had but only one woman really looked
like she had lost the bodyfat and the numbers proved me right.
Most concentrated more on the cardio aspect. I suspect that the other
woman already had decent muscle mass before she got fat as she had the
    look of a former athlete.

lately, they tell me I'm just under 5'8", something like 5' 7-7/8". Of
course, with my big hair, there won't be any contest. 🙂 But if you
drop fractions of an inch instead of rounding, I'm 5' 7", too.

How tall are you? I walk around at 153 or so most of the time
    although
this winter my cardio has been less than usual and I was 157 this
morning, a mere two pounds less than you. I'm 5' 8" tall.

    I take that back then.
I am the official mfw height of 5'7"

I don't beat you by much. Technically, every time I get measured
lately, they tell me I'm just under 5'8", something like 5' 7-7/8". Of
course, with my big hair, there won't be any contest. 🙂 But if you
drop fractions of an inch instead of rounding, I'm 5' 7", too.

    I'm closer to 5' 7.5" but I can't be bothered so I rounded down.

    Before you critisize someone,
you should walk a mile in their shoes.
That way, when you critisize them,
you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

Alright, Bob, we definitely have to do a back-to-back whenever we meet.
I'm still predicting I'll be the winner, but it will be small
consolation as you'll out-total me by hundreds of pounds if you keep up
    anything like your past performances.
