  1. Hi Guys.

Took the new road bike out for the Saturday Club Run - a 36mile trip with
    cafe stop.

It was *so* much easier on the road bike compared to previous club runs on
    my mtb.

I could blast up the hills without busting a lung, and I found I could
easily accelerate and catch up with the group after getting dropped at a
    roundabout due to traffic.

I got a lift to the run start point, and then cycled home which brought the
total milage for the day to 43.7 miles.

Shouldn't be too long till I'm able to go on the 70mile Sunday runs!

    :-D

Pleased as punch with the road bike, although I think I need to do some
    tweaking with the saddle position.

    regards

I too had a first (real) ride on my new road bike. Lots of saddle
adjusting, gear trimming, worries about the creaking b/b (bit
intermittent). Only thing is I've positioned the gear levers a bit too
far down the handlebar drops so I can't ride on the hoods... so I'll
have to reposition and retape. Luckily I've also connected the brake
cables to the wrong levers which feels _all_ wrong, so I'll be
    retaping the bars anyway...

Cracking ride tho' - I moved to South Wales in December and havn't had
the chance to explore (by bike) and the Sustrans routes hereabouts are
excellent - I did a 27 mile ride around Chepstow, Usk and Raglan.
Brilliant views, it's pretty up-and-down and there were strangley few
cyclists about. Hang on, was there another attraction in Wales this
    afty??
