Upgrade 9 to 10

I assume you're talking about a Shimano freehub? In that case the 10 speed cassette will fit the 9 speed freewheel body without any problems, there is a thin spacer included with the 10 speed cassettes that goes on first on a 9 speed body.

Works for campy too. AFWIW, it it's a freehub body, not freewheel.

Though I think that they may have mislabelled have a couple of columns WH-7700/WH-6500 when I think they meant FH-7700/FH-6500

figured you would get a grin out of that. Incidentally your comments the other day referencing Park's site and Art's referencing Campy's site helped a lot with trimming out the DR's. Thanks. Boy it shifts nice...very clean. When the bike arrived, the seat post had a gouge on it...probably from a clumsy tech who carelessly clamped the bike to a stand to initially set it up which BTW he did a very poor job of. I have gone through the whole bike and it was pretty much out of adjustment across the board...what a surprise. Also waiting on some pedals.

I've checked the spec for the hub on shimano's website, it said for 9 speed only,
I just want to make absolutely sure, so I don't wast my money to buy something that don't works.
Please can someone answer me Yes or No
whether the Ultegra Cassette CS-6600 10 spd will fit Dura-Ace Rear Hub FH-7700 9 spd?

It says you can but it requires a 1mm spacer.

I have heard that the Shimano 10 speed cassette will work with the 9 speed freehub, but a 9 speed cassette cannot be used on the 10 speed freehub. As I understand it, the 10 speed systems use deeper splines, so the 9 speed cassette will not slide on. The 10 speed will fit on the 9 speed hub, but I'm told that it's not ideal. I'm not a mechanic (despite many attempts in my basement), but I recently went through purchasing a new 10 speed bike. My research was moot, since I went with 10 speed Campy Record.

You heard BS.There is nothing 'not ideal' about a 10 cassette on a 9 hub. A 9 cassette won't work on an aluminum DA hub body with the deeper spline pattern,but will work on a ultegra 10 steel shallow spline hub body.

Yeah I thought the not ideal part was just a way of saying "it will work but we prefer you upgrade everything". I didn't realize the Ultegra was different. Thanks for the info.
