Not his exact words, but a colorful embellishment (unless you have a
source?).

Dutch paper 'De Volkskrant' has a page long interview with Simeoni
today. According to Simeoni, yes: those were his exact words.

Apparently Simeoni is changing his story more often than MJ's accusers:
Police probe Simeoni on Armstrong clash
Associated Press
"Simeoni was quoted by Gazzetta as saying that while he rode with Armstrong,
the Texan said, "You made a mistake to speak against Ferrari, and you made a
mistake to take legal action against me. I have money and time and lots of
lawyers. I can destroy you."
Same essential statement, but lacking the "I am powerful" embellishment.

OK, that's what I meant, sorry.

The exact quote from the Volkskrant: 'Het was dom van je om te getuigen
tegen Ferrari en een rechtszaak tegen mij aan te spannen. Ik heb veel tijd
en geld. Ik zal je ruïneren.' Which means: "It was stupid to speak against
Ferrari and you made a mistake to take legal action against me. I have lots
of time and money, and I'll ruin you". I haven't find the "I'm powerful"
part in the interview. A pity, since I rather liked it.

The "I am powerful" line will be in the based-on-a-true-story movie that
will be out in a few years. Oliver Stone or Michael Moore directing.

Armstrong spoke to Simeoni in Dutch?

Equating lawyers with power is fine. I have a plan on the books for a
15MW power station involving lawyers and treadmills.

I think you mean lawyers and windmills, doncha?

Of course. He was already preparing for the Ronde van Vlaanderen.

Funny thing is that people often refer to English language sites to point to
the supposed real words, but the information there is often the result of a
double translation (Eng -> Old Europe-ish - > Eng) from the original
interview.
In a Flemish paper the word 'powerful' was in the title. That's how I know,
I just saw those screaming words a few meters away on the train this
morning. But whether it comes from the same Simeoni interview or another , I
don't know.

No. I think he meant exactly what he said. Though it is lawyerlike to
flip the meaning.

I imagined them running around like little hamsters in cages. How did
you envision the process working?

I am not sure they have the legs for hamster cages, but they've got the
wind, for sure. I kind of envisioned them huffing and puffing and blowing
the windmills around, like on PEI...

It is kind of funny, but we've already seen this raised before in this
same soap opera: Simeoni's lawsuit against Armstrong is based on an
interview in Le Monde.

And traslating from Simeonis', well documented and long history of
embelishment, what Lance actually said was, "You are weasle for blaming
Ferrari for what was ultimately your choice, You did lie as I am sure
you will about this, and I have the money, the lawyers and the time to
prove that you did, and the world will eventually see you for the
little weasel that you are."

You give crew a bad name.
