Inline adjusters installation

5. followed by the other ferrule and the remainder of the housing.
6. rotate the barrel such that the mechanism exerts the
least length expansion on the HOUSING
7. adjust derailleurs.
8. use barrels to trim derailleurs as needed.

Did I get any of this wrong?

You pretty much have it down. The only other things I would tell you is to
shorten the housing the same amount as the length of the in-line adjusters
and when doing the preliminary adjustments to your derailleurs, have in-line
adjuster screwed 3~4 turns out. That will leave room to tighten or slacken
the der cables in small amounts to fine tune your derailleurs.

I bought the same ones, they work well. I believe I had to cut out exactly
1" of the housing to keep it the same length.

You covered everything. We dislike plastic ferrules - we
sub metal ones. Otherwise that's pretty much it. We like
these a lot. Very handy.

Ya have it right but in actual practice, if the ders are adjusted well,
inline or headtube or downtube adjusters just aren't needed. No small
trimming is necessary, particularly with the front der. If ya gotta move
the front der out, for instance, it also changes where it is when on the
small ring, at the starting place.

Kinda wish there were-
-decent wrenches that knew how to adjust ders, particularly the front
-no barrel adjusters that I see way outta adjustment all the time.
