Wahoo has introduced three app tiers: free Base, £4.99/month Core, and £14.99/month Pro. The free tier includes workout recording, device connectivity, route planning, and live tracking. Meanwhile, the Pro tier includes SYSTM, daily workout recommendations, structured training plans, and 4DP/3DP profiling. In the UK, the new Pro price matches the previous Wahoo subscription price.
It is a bit frustrating that Wahoo has not clarified how existing subscribers will transition to the new tiers. For those of us already in the ecosystem, it is a big shift in how we access training tools. Is the £14.99 monthly Pro tier a fair trade-off for hardware owners compared to staying with Garmin or Strava? Also, does the addition of 3DP profiling for running make the top tier more appealing to multi sport athletes?
Whether that £14.99 Pro tier is a fair trade-off really depends on how much you value the structured plans versus just having clean data. If you're already using a system to track fitness gains over a season, paying a monthly fee for recommendations can feel steep, especially when the free tier still handles the core recording and connectivity.
As for the 3DP profiling, that's definitely a draw for those of us moving into multisport or triathlons. Having that specific running analysis integrated into the same ecosystem as the cycling data makes the top tier much more appealing than a basic subscription, provided the profiling actually leads to better performance gains and isn't just a fancy metric.
