PS: I went to my TOPS meeting last night. For the second week in a row their scale showed that I lost 3 pounds. That made me the winner of a bag of fruit. I was tempted, but turned it back, as I do not eat fruit. They might as well have tried to hand me a bag of Hershey bars. Prizes for weightloss are a great idea, but using food as a reward is questionable. I have not voiced that reservation. I'm too new to be trying to change what they do.
I found out the member that looks anorexic is a vegetarian. She is always the best dressed, but there is something about her appearance that makes me feel she may fall over dead at any moment. This appears to be graphic evidence of the malnutrition of vegetarian diets. I don't know if she is vegan.

What if they had offered a tub of protein powder or some jars of cocoa?
My point is that those that can lose successfully on a LF diet might find fruit of value. Not many that I know would be able to deal with a bag of candy bars.

She is likely on CR.
what is CR?
BTW - my best friend is a vegetarian and has been for 18 years now. She is very overwieght, has struggled with her weight and has never appeared malnourished, LOL. She has done ok with South Beach though, losing about 30 lbs.
I don't have to remind anyone that pasta, french fries, cookies, ice cream and chocolate bars are all vegetarian.

Depending on how one defines "vegetarian." True Vegans don't eat anything derived from animal sources, such as milk or butter, which leaves out lots of cookies and all ice cream.

They should consider making the prize a small grocery store gift certificate so the person could spend it on treats that fit into their particular diet.
