  1. Hi all. I have come to the conclusion that the atkins diet is the way to
go. Here is my recent story:

2 years ago I was 355 lbs. Over the past 2 years I had lost some weight not
trying that hard but I had been maintaining that weight loss none the less.
Anyway this past October I gave birth to a rolly polly baby boy. I was 5
lbs below my prepregnancy weight at the time of his birth. When I went back
for the 2 month check I was down about 25 lbs from my highest weight getting
    down to about 330.

Cue the next 2 months. I have been eating everything in site since for some
reason my eating never regulated after pregnancy. I have been just as
hungry but I am not using the calories as efficantly. I am back up to 347!
Yes I actualy gained 17 lbs in 2 months *choke**gasp*.

I actualy have no desire to cheat this time! I am 26 years old and would
like to lose about 200 lbs total. It is nice meeting you all and I look
forward to getting to know you all.

Hi Tory, welcome to the group!

Are you breastfeeding? That can spark a monumental appetite. If you
ARE, you might want to consider going on Atkins Maintenance until the
baby is weaned. New mothers here probably have better advice about it
than I do, but that's usually the advice I see.

I wish I could blame the hunger on breastfeeding but sadly Xavier never
latched on and the pump stopped getting anything at 6 weeks post partam. My
hunger just never went back down to normal after feeling like I was gonna
starve for 9 months and then the 6 weeks I pumped.

  5. welcome to ASDL-C. as you're a new mom, you might find it useful to read the
Pregnant Atkids yahoo group as well:

    http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/PregnantAtkids/
"PregnantAtkids· For low-carb'ers who are pregnant, nursing, or actively trying
    to get pregnant."

I am subscribed to it out of curiosity but never read it so I can't say anymore!!!
