Gyms in my area are very busy during lunch time and right after work for
about two hours. However, when I had a gym membership I rarely had to
wait for a power cage. I think everyone there was afraid of them (except
for the [censored] doing curls in them).

And those are the same [censored] that leave the bar loaded and down on the
safety bars right? I know those guys!

No it doesn't, the gym is *always* "least busy" when it is "least
    busy"!!

Got it wrong again Queenie!! ;o)

That's why I don't mind my gym-full-of-[censored] too much. Almost NO ONE
uses the power cage. I have never had to wait. I feel sorry for the
people doing those silly machine circuits.

I find that the least busy times are between 9:30 am to 11:30 am, 1:30
pm to 3:30 pm and 7:30 pm to 10:00 pm (M-F)...this is in a commercial /
residential area, the weekends are hit and miss depending on where your
gym is (whether it's in a residential area or a business area)

4:30 after work people start filtering in
5:30-7:00 everyone and his freakin' brother
    after 7:00, I dunno.

Hey, my new gym has quite a few of the 5:30-7:00 insane people (including
me). They're the serious lifters too. Regularly have two pairs (one of whom
was benching 3 wheels the other day, woot woot, clean lifts too) and tuesday
morning we had us a traffic jam.

I'm kind of finding a loophole in the rules of my 24 Hour Fitness. I signed
up for the MWFSu schedule, which is half the price of a full week package. I
get off work at 11:30pm, so I get to the gym before midnight on M, W, and F
to do weights, then get there around 12:05am W and F mornings to do cardio.
I share the gym with 2 or 3 other people at those times. That, for me, is
    the best time to go.
