I've ordered shedloads of stuff from them - though none that recently - and
never had any problems. They are quite happy to send stuff to a work
address instead of home (suppliers who don't offer this are /very/ unlikely
to get my custom).

I've also used them for many years and had a good service. Occasionally an
item is out of stock and delivery period is extended but the item always
arrives. If required urgently call to check availability.

I've also had good service from them on my only purchase there last
year. Seemed like a quality shop to me.

Yep, give them a call Steve's the boss - I've used them a bit and had no
problems. They use RM/Parcelforce 2nd class for delivery - seems that they
give the stuff to guy with the red van promptly but then he takes his time!

Never had any problem with their service,but after a visit to the shop I can
see it is only a small concern ( as in numbers of staff,not size of shop ).
I should give them a ring.

Well I phoned as you all suggested Settle Cycles they confirmed that
they had sent my order off on 26th February. I then phoned the local
PO parcel depot, yes the parcel was there, yes the driver called
yesterday but you were out and he left a card. That's utter bollocks,
I was here all day and indeed all f....... week! Do you want to pick
it up its only 5 miles away and its freezing cold and you don't have a
car, ok we will put it on the van and deliver it tomorrow! For God's
sake isn't that what they are supposed to do?

Round the supper table the other week, Sue and I were reminiscing about
the things we got up to as urchins. We mentioned Knock Down Ginger. The
children wanted to know what that was, so rather sheepishly I explained
the game of sneaking up to someone's front door, knocking loudly and
running off at high speed.

- Oh, they still play that. It's called Parcel Force.

We have what is reputed to be the smallest sorting office in the UK but
plans have just been announced to close it.
The 12 staff who live locally are now going to have to drive 12 miles to
their 'new' depot, get ferried back by minibus to where they started, do
their rounds by bike, then get taken back to the depot to collect their
cars so they can then drive back home.
Thats 50 miles extra travelling per staff member per day.
In addition the collection facility will be moved 12 miles away too, so
if you are out when a parcel is delivered its a 90-minute journey by two
buses plus a half mile walk to pick anything up - then the same coming back.

As you can imagine its a hot topic with straong campaigns now underway.
