  2. Hey, I'm in Portsmouth when I'm at university, and near Cambridge when
    I'm not.

Theres a few other unicyclists here in Pompey, and lots more trying to
    learn at our juggling club.

Looks like we've got most of the country covered so far!

  3. I live in Epsom, Surrey. A few minutes driving distance from where the
Derby horse race happens. My nearest fellow riders are at Croydon
Juggling Club, but I'm the only one of them who hangs out and posts
    here.

But basically I'm alone here, with zero other uni riders in this area.
Due to my shyness and extremely low self-esteem I've never ridden at all
    in my home area.

  4. I'm from the sunny (but at the moment snowy) south east in Eastbourne
and do loads of muni on the nearby south downs, all on my jack jones
unfortunately as everyone else in this area is over 90 years old and
moan about them being too old to take up muni, hardly the Dunkirk spirit
    is it!

  7. Hi,

In Yateley, Hampshire, a mile from Berkshire, 2 miles from Surrey.

There used to be hockey teams worth riders locally but they have all
moved towards the South West or Wales in the last couple of years. Also
I know of 3 Coker riders between here and London.

Riding around your home town is fine, some of the more common comments I
get from the youths hanging around the streets are:

'is that a different Unicycle?' or ' there he is again, how are you
    doing?'.

I recently rode in Frome whilst visiting friends, there the comments
were the standard 'where's your other wheel'.

  8. Do check out the 'Union of UK Unicyclists'
(http://www.unicycle.org.uk/). It doesn't list members by name and
location, but does link to an up-to-date list of uni/juggling events and
gatherings in the UK. Great way to meet other riders.

  13. Surest way to meet other UK riders is to attend Kidderminster and/or
Exeter unimeets and especially BUC - see unicycle.uk.com UK events
    calendar for details.

I'm in Rugby and attend Nuneaton Juggling Club where there are loads of
other riders, but most of them don't go to regional or national events
(Robin & Ian excepted). There are a few of us Cokeurs in the Midlands
who ride out fairly regularly (though not enough in my case).

_Mike_Penton_: Hey Mike, I may be working in the Brooklands/Woking area
soon - if so, perhaps we could get out riding.

    Regards
    Chris

  14. Hi, there's a bunch of us in the south warwickshire area (centered
around Warwick). Most of the others are at University for the majority
of the time, but i'm always around if any of the other midland uni-ists
fancy a bit of a ride. I've got an Onza 20" Trials and an Onza 24" Muni
with Maguras fitted. I've ridden down snowdon 3 times now, and am
looking for people to ride with... If you're interested you can can
    contact me at Loose_moose_pie(at)hotmail(dot)com.

    Hi Chris,

Woking is very near to M3 J3, which is adjacent to Swinley Forest, this
has a good mountain bike area, plus lots of Coker fire road riding.
Pretty similar to the last Forest of Dean BMW which I think you
    attended?

Let me know if your down, I live and work near here.

  16. I'm a student at Aberystwyth uni (West Mid Wales) and live in holidays
at home in Bath (SW England). I ride a 24 Onza muni, mostly pavements
and occasional muni when I can get the chance.

I'd love to have a go at Snowdon some time - I believe the paths are
open for cycling from Oct to May, so maybe we can have a trip sometime
in the next three months before they close for the summer walkers?

There's also the brilliant and beautiful Nant-yr-Arian trail park very
near Aberystwyth, with 16km of dedicated trails and singletrack. If
anyone wants to join me some weekend there it'd be cool.

Been riding since July 2003, but I've never managed to come to a uni or
muni meet. I'm hoping to come to BUC this year.

  17. I've done snowdon in late december (around the 28th-29th) twice, and in
easter once, so if we could get a decent number of people together it
might be worth heading over there again before the trails close. Its a
real trek up, really steep climb after a decent ride, but after that its
an easy descent towards llanberis, especially in spring.

    If you can get yourself up mount Snowdon its real fun, take a look;

    http://gallery.unicyclist.com/unicus

There are more and more organised (and some more loosely organised)
unicycle rides/events in the UK nowadays so get yourself along to one or
organise one yourself. (Don't miss BUC)
