Since it's usually considered better for a pet's bowl to be heavy
rather than light, so it doesn't get shoved around as easily,
wouldn't it be better to make one from solid tungsten, or perhaps
gold? Depleted uranium just doesn't sound as good.Dave Lehnen

There is an internet rumor that Oliver Sachs has a solid iridium dog
bowl. At least there is now. -

I stand corrected.

Could be that or one must wonder who the real *master* is; the dog poops
and its owner cleans up after it. -

I am frequently amused as I ride past the aging yuppies piling into
their Jags (Beamers are so last-millenium) to head down to the club
for a training session...while the yard crew mows the lawn. He who
mows his own lawn saves twice, I say.--

It's more commonly done by the dog owner where I am from, NYC. There's
not much grass to be cut here or for dogs to take advantage of which
leads to some other opportunities. Working class folk also send their
dogs to a dog gym which membership cost just as much as those for people
and ti framed bikes outnumber or equal al/steel/wood/etc ( gratuitious
cycling related comment). -

"If your bicycle should fail to proceed for any reason, you may
contact our Service Specialists at any time by dialing ..."Facetiousness aside, people who ride bikes for reasons other than as a
trendy Thing That They Do (and even many of the ones in that latter
category) quickly discover that knowing how to fix a flat is simply
part of riding. The ones who send their flats out to be fixed are few
in number, and their bikes tend to be spotless showpieces lovingly
displayed in a tasteful manner in their living room.--

A carbon fiber bowl with a tungsten base would offer a very low centre
of gravity. Of course some people will tell you that their dog can't
tell the difference I *know* it's a better bowl.Cam

three-and-a-half pounds of cat that's *definately* in charge of things.

Since it's usually considered better for a pet's bowl to be heavy
rather than light, so it doesn't get shoved around as easily,
wouldn't it be better to make one from solid tungsten, or perhaps
gold? Depleted uranium just doesn't sound as good.Reinforced concrete. Cheap, durable, heavy, not a theft target, and
no environmental hazard when it's time to dispose of it.I made up a Portland cement, silica fume and carbon fiber mix once that
had an unconfined compressive strength of about 25,000 psi and very low
permeability compared to regular concrete. I would hate to think of the
per yard cost, however.--
