Is it better to take carbs before working out and protein afterwards, or the
other way around? What about creatin?

If you look at the recent studies on Nutrient Timing, you want to eat a
low glycemic carb meal + 10gm creatine 3 to 4 hours before a workout
and then no carbs until the middle of your workout. Then eat about 35
gm complex carb + 20 gm protein in the middle of your workout and then
more of the same immediately after training.Muscles are super sensitive to insulin from the middle of training till
about 1/2 hr after training. So this is the time to charge them up for
best recovery. But if you eat carbs just prior to training it kills
this sensitivity.Z
