  1. I hosted a tapas party this weekend and on Sunday woke with a killer
    headache.

I took aspirin and pseudofed (sp?), a usually winning combination, to no
    effect.
Then I had a big ole cup of full caf' coffee, and whammo, headache gone.

I was luxuriating in the lack of pain when I got to thinking about just what
it was I'd ingested to get rid of it.

Does this count as an ECA stack? Will I get hyuuj now? <jk>
Seriously, is this a well-known remedy for headaches?

Aspirin and caffeine? Definitely. Check out the ingredients list of
some headache powders some time. Stuff like Goody's and BC are likely
to have caffeine as an ingredient.

As for the pseudofed, I dunno. It's a stimulant for me, and seems to
increase respiratory rate and just make my brain work better/faster.
I used to take it in high school before tests and such. Now, I find
it also helps before a workout.

The aspirin - caffeine combo is a well know combo for headaches. Some of the
common OTC remedies are this exact combo. Something about dilating the
blood vessels in the head or something.

Only problem is that once you have done this a number of times, aspirin
without the caffeine just doesn't work as well. Your body begins to think
that it needs the combo or something.

Personally if I have a headache, I always take a caffeine pill with it. It
works better. And for some reason on a killer headache, a shot of tequila
seems to help as well. That may be a personal thing though. Tequila seems
to have some kinda mystical powers with me.

Yes. Many headaches, including hangover headaches, are partially due to
vasodilation of cerebral blood vessels. Caffeine is a vasoconstrictor.
Ephedrine is a vasocontrictor. Pseudoephedrine is a vasoconstrictor. Viagra
is a vasodilator. Don't take that last one.

I knew about the combination of aspirin and caffeine (it's what most
commercial brands calls their migraine combo), but didn't know about the
ephedrine/pseudoephedrine synergy. I usually take aspirin and pseudofed
together because my headaches are usually centered in my sinuses. And here
I thought I was on to something big, marketing-wise. You'd all buy Sleenz
Secret Headache Remedy, right? Ah well, I guess I'll have to make my
    millions elsewhere.

And thanks for the advice on the Viagra. I'll make sure to keep that
    separate ;-)

If adding a few mgs of aspirin to the mix would mess up the meth cooks
and bring my $1.50 pseudoephedrine back from behind the counter, then
    I'd be all over it.

Keeping away from viagra when you have a headache only reaffirms the old
saying "not tonight dear, I have a headache" 🙂
