Wheels?

You have a vast selection of wheels that can be had...

1. Mavic Cosmos for about $290 US. Their Kysrium Equipe goes for $370
2. Campy Ventos for less that $275 US $299 retail I think Their Proton line goes for
about $380
3. Shimano R550 fo $289 US
4. Alex makes some affordably price rims. Their A Class Rims are their higher-end

I have had Alex rims and currently ride on Ventos and I am quite happy with both sets of wheels.

I really don't know where you can get them in the UK. There are several internet dealers out there.

I have found some Campag Vento's for £100 new.

And some Mavic Cosmos for £130.

These two are the ones that Im looking at, the Cosmos are 200g's lighter, for £30 more. Does 200g's make a lot of difference though?

Alike, I have also found some Mavic 2005 Ksyrium Elite 2's for £270. These are right on the limit of my price line.
But are very light.

Actually, the elite version of the Cosmos are only 50g's lighter, for about £200.

I think that I will go with the Cosmos for £130.

I think you'll like them. Actually, I would consider saving the extra 140 pounds and springing for the Elites. They may cost more, but definitely be worth their price in comfort, feel on the road, and weight. A few grams may not make a difference on a level road, but everything counts when you're trying to mount an incline.
