The Pashley Muni comes with a Viscount saddle as standard, the same as the Coker. I actually rather
like the Viscount, but most people hate
it. One regular on rec.sport.unicycling refers to it as the "Viscount de Sade". It's not great for
distance riding, anyway.
Until last year, the saddle of choice for most distance riders was a Miyata air seat - a standard
Miyata unicycle saddle that has been converted by removing the cover, drilling a valve hole in the
base, inserting an inner tube and gluing the cover back on. But strangely I find the unmodified
Viscount more comfortable then a Miyata air seat. I tried an air seat conversion on an old Viscount
that I had laying around, but it didn't work well.
Now the saddle of choice is the Kris Holm Velo saddle, designed specifically for spending a lot of
time on. I haven't had the chance to try one properly yet, but when I had a quick go a few months
ago I found that the nose seemed too wide. Several people have made the same comment.
So it looks like I'm stuck with the Viscount for now, unless I can get a seatpost of the right
diameter for the Coker adapted to fit a DM contoured saddle.
