  1. i am racing sunday rain or shine
    anyone have any advice on riding in mud!!!
    the race will go no matter what and i have already paid!!!!

    If its muddy uphills just stick to pretty standard climbing principles. Stay seated and leaning way forward over the handlebars. If its steep don't be afraid to get off and run that hill, i guarantee you won't be the only one and you'll certainly have a bit more energy than trying to keep those wheels in line.
    In flat sections, you have to keep pedaling and maintain momentum. If you slow down you're stuck. Pick a good line as well, a less muddy looking one perhaps.
    Downhill just keep the keep the bike beneath you. You control the line, not the bike but in the mud it becomes a bit more of a challenge. I ride in the mud quite a bit seeing as my town is near tops in the country in average annual precipitation. That said, good luck in the race Stu!!

    if its gonna be really muddy mabie get some good tires for it too
