It's a game other than speed, but the object is still to go as fast as
you can.
heeere's how it works: you and your opponent each take half the deck,
and each of you lay four cards in front of you so there's two rows of
four cards each

somewhere in those eight cards, there's usually a pair. So if you see a
pair, i.e. two eights, you lay a card from your hand on top of each of
them. it doesn't matter which card, just the first two on top of your
pile. if there aren't any pairs, then you pick up your row of four cards
in front of you and lay down four more, and start over. it goes until
someone gets rid of all of his/her cards.
