I asked a friend. He gives his New Scientist to his GP's waiting room
and reports they disappear from there rapidly...
FWIW, I've given various mags away to libraries. Most aren't interested
due to space reasons on large collections, but some of the smaller
branches have a 'magazine exchange' rack at the entrance where people can
give away / take away back issues of magazines. Do it a dozen or so at a
time. I guess that if anyone ever reads them again, it has been a
worthwhile exercise. Probably not appropriate for Viz / lads / pr0n
mags...
Alternative 1: common rooms, employee lounges, community centres, & as
suggested, GP surgeries.
Alternative 2: eBay. Make sure you weigh 'em for the postage cost before
listing them, tho.
Alternative 3: I got rid of loads of old music mags (Vox, Select, etc) a
few years back & found a suggestion somewhere online - use them as
rock'n'roll wrapping paper. Great idea, which I used that Xmas.
