The Lance Armstrong Era is almost over and you know what that means...the merkins cameras wil fail to show up in France, Italy and Spain because no one else in merkia is capable of riding a bike and winning on the international stage...

we have little Hamilton, bless his cotton socks, a gutsy little rider but never good enough to win le tour out right...that mostly leave a bunch of other merkin has-beens who never really amounted to much anyway due to LAs constant suppression of thier talents. If it wasnt for LA merkia would have better riders right now, sadly thats not the case.

So Lance will leave...the master of the one race, milking his illness for all its worth...man he got his moneys worth there didnt he...and who wil replace him?

i cant see anyone in merkia standing in the wings with enough youth, talent and hunger....cycling is over in merkia, the fad has finished. now go and breed you pigs again in silence and do not bother your betters again...

Well, one thing in your post was correct. The word "Master." That's right, He is THE MASTER! Who else has done what he has? NO ONE! So go try to figure out what else you can whine about! One thing's for sure, when biking history lists the most wins in the TDF, ONLY one name is there, LANCE ARMSTRONG-American!

As for the future of cycling, it sure as hell isn't the UK. It's going to be the Spanish! Then, you can hate on them as well for kicking ass!

If Ullrich had won and Lance not competed this year many would have said that he only won because Lance didn't ride.
Besides someone else may kick both their butts. That's what makes it entertaining.

Perfect point Jhuskey. When Armstrong won his first tour everyone said it was a fluke becuase Ulle and Pantani were not racing. No one wants an asterix by there win in the books. Personally I think Ulle would be dissappointed if Armstrong did not race and he won. He would always wonder if he could have beaten him.

Well that's how I would feel. I have some loose ties to Jan and I think he is a great rider. Don't get me wrong it's not like I am a close friend of his. We just have mutual friends.
I have always pulled for Lance but will have mixed feelings about this years Tour.
It will most likely be the last chance for both and Lance already has his record.
A bike race for some, a way of life for others and for some a last chance at history.
It should be glorious.

I agree Mr Husley,

my point was more about who is going to fill LA's boots when he has gone...Lance has been great for the sport and for upsetting the establishment that has become slightly set in thier ways, in many ways LA was a breath of fresh air but he is also a bad sportsman in that he cannot take winning graciously. In a sport such as this sportsmanship is important. No one like a bad loser thats for sure, but a bad winner is even worse.

I think Lance has Jan's number. After the infamous "Look" that Lance gave to Ullrich as he passed him, Ullrich has never been the same. Besides, last year showed that Jan's team was split and didn't support him the way Lance's team did. Who's to say it won't happen again this year. When Lance's team was designed, it was for one sole purpose, to get him on the top podium spot again. I do agree that it is going to be interesting this year,and if someone does get lucky, it won't be Jan. Everyone wants the epic battle between Jan and Lance but I just don't think it will happen. As I said above, the #7 is a magical number and I think it will be great for Lance.

Unfortunately cycling is just an footnote in the newspaper in the US for most and that is only when Armstrong is in the spot light.
I would bet that 80% of Americans do not know that Hamiliton was suspended and for what.
I wish it were different but.... alas I do not see a change in the forseeable future. Too many other high-profile sports with a lot of money involved to allow cycling to achieve a respectable place in the public eye.

How can you say that Lance is a "Bad Winner." In a sport that has been filled with the negativity of doping, Lance has remained on top as a clean rider. He has kept the "traditional" ways of biking a priority through out his reign as TDF Champion and has never done anything to show that he is a bad sportsman. Seems like the only thing wrong with Lance is that he is an American dominating a European sport.

i would like to see an american challenger, i really like Hamilton, and i mean that sincerely. I would like to have seen him win le tour but with the luck he has it looks like he'll never get there and he now what 33? 34?..

last year, i wanted hamilton to win...i was sick of the [censored] from Ullrich but when he crashed i was gutted. i kinda wanted armstrong to win becuase he does bring a lot of tv coverage but i do not care for the man himself...

this year well the field is wide open, armstong bound by the new protour 'rules' and so many good riders...anybodys game...

I really relate to Tyler also, and I like Phonak but I am afraid they have lost all their talent. I do not see them being much of a force in cycling this year.
And yes I believe Tyler is probably finished as a top contender.
A far as Lance I still haven't figured that Cheryl Crowe thing, but to each his own.

On another note you know Zabel is sort of a "Lone Ranger" in some ways... so we will se how that shakes out this year.
