This is not strictly a bicycle question, but people here seem to know
about this stuff. REI has a good price on some closeout Petzl Zoom
headlamps (http://www.rei.com/outlet/product/47793473.htm and
http://www.rei.com/outlet/product/47793475.htm).
As far as I can tell those are not halogen headlamps. Can I replace
that incadecent bulb with a halogen?

halogen lamp in mine. The one with the belt battery pack may be
better (you can put an inline plug and socket in the cable).Guy

good mountaineering store. The halogen bulbs will drain batteries much
faster than the regular bulb, so you might want to consider that when
choosing between the two models offered.
