I have had a Columbus trailer for some years - over 10 (though it doesn't get used much anymore) -
in terms of weight it's rated for 100kg
- the most I know I had was 80kG-ish - which was well loaded shopping trolley - but of course if
you are carrying less dense stuff it will take up more space.
Main reason for buying this against others (there were a lot less around then) was that it folds
down easily to store in a reasonably small space.
The main downer is that it fixes to the seat post - on heavy braking this can tend to lift the
back wheel. Ok with lower loads but once you get above say 50kg it's more noticeable. Heavily
loaded, braking going down hill could be 'fun' :-) the tow bar at that height gives a convenient
handle for manoeuvring though.
For a smaller load the bike hod has been around for a while

I`ve also had a Columbus for ages - an excellent heavy duty trailer. I have never noticed the back
wheel lifting but then I am quite a large bloke. Was used regularly for weekly shopping trips over 8
miles or so.
With a T bar on the end its also very useful for general fetching and carrying jobs / ferrying small
kids etc. We still use it for most of our shopping now, but as the supermarket is only about 400 yds
it isn`t worth putting it on the bike.
Managed to bend a wheel overloading it once but it uses easily available 20" wheels & tyres.
Recommended.
