The RH-550's. Dont those weigh right around 1850g or so? If those are the wheels I am thinking of, then no, I would say not worth it. Keep what you have and get something better later.
Thanks for the advice, I am probably (for real) going to get Mavic Cosmic Elites.
Those are also rather heavy at 1900g. I mean the Cosmic Carbones (2005) weigh less.. I also read some not so encouraging reviews regarding their durability and their spokes not staying tight.
Have you thought about saving a little more for Mavic SSC SLs? I dont have them myself, but they are pretty light at 1500g and very popular. Better reviews. Or how about getting a set of wheels built for you on Open Pro's? I have a set of the Aerolites from Dave's Wheels at speeddream.com that I train on. They fall in at ~1530g with Sapim CX-Ray spokes, all-black anodized if you wish and very very durable - three years of riding and I have never once had to true them on thousands of miles. They have ridden over some tough roads too. The Elites might be ok - who knows - but I think all of these options are better if you can spend just a bit more, which I think for a decent set of wheels, is the way to go.
