Does anyone have any experience with this carbon frame? or some link
with usefull review?
At first I ordered a colnago c50 frame, but due the terrible colnago
dealer in Slovenia and colnago customer service, after almost 3 months
after I placed may order I didn't get any inormation when can I expect
my frame. 2 years ago, I bought a colnago dream frame from the same
and only dealer, and I waited 6 months instead of 3 as promised.
Because of this I switched to different manufacturer and dealer, so I
ordered look 585 frame.
When comparing this frame with c50, they both are with lugs, made of
high modulus carbon, 585 is a bit lighter and little bit cheaper,
frame geometry is suitable for me, but I am wondering if 585 is as
stiff and comfortable as c50?! , bottom line is : did I made a mistake
switching from c50 to look 585 !?
Dear Ico!
I must assure you that what jou have done is an big mistake. As an owner of
Colnago C50 i can tell you that there isn't souch a two wheel harmony
anywhere else. C50 with many carbon parts and light low spoke wheeles is the
meaniest machine ever. Sure, you can use some Look parts on your bike, but
the frame just has to be C50. It is the most beautiful bike ever, and the
benchmark for others.
I also niticed that my Colnago C50 is aprox. 1,17% faster than the fastest
road bike I have owned so far (which was Colnago too, ofcourse). When I
combine my apparel with the color of the frame, all other cyclist stare at
me and all I can see is the envy in their eyes. Here where I live we have a
small club of Colnago riders called "Preseratori", and owning an Carbon C-50
with 10sp Dura-Ace is a joining condotion. If ju get one you are more than
wellcome, else....I'm sorry.
So....in the end I can tell you only one thing. Get C50 at any cost. Do
whatever it takes to get one. Do not buy Look because you'll end up buying
C50 next season....Look just isn't that, and every serious cyclist will make
fun of you.
Preserator has spoken.
