Hi, I have recently bought a pair of Cinelli Angel bars, as my TT bike is set up for a quill stem I duely bought an adapter to enable me to fit them. My friendly bike shop however failed to tell me that I would also need a shim as the adapter itself is actually to small for the bars. I duely buy the shim only to find that the shim and the adaper once fitted together are now too large to fit in the bars, #*@~ !!!
Has anyone experienced the same problem? I'm told that I have the correct shim so any advice or ideas would be welcome.

Sounds like you have a 1'' threaded fork, got a quill from threaded to ahead, then a shim from 1'' to 11/8 ... you may not like my suggestion.. get a new 11/8 fork with a new aHead .. and get rid of all that in the middle [censored] ..
I have a Angel, 11/8, CK ahead and have no problem..
