A few strange/random tips:
- Warm up inside if possible. My limbs are more creaky in winter, and warm
up is more essential. Warming up inside makes you feel warm when you go out,
and also the energy supply system is primed and ready to go. Failing to
warm up on Sunday's run caused my hip to develop pain and cut short my run.
- Use castor oil on your face and neck. If your skin gets dry or irritated
where you sweat on exposed skin in winter (neck sides of face etc.), castor
oil will moisturize and keep the skin healthy if you apply it before
exercise. Surprisingly, the stuff is great for your skin.
- Use a headband under your hat if the hat is irritating when you sweat.
This also works for baseball caps in summer. I cut headbands in 1/2 and use
the 1/2 strip to put inside the forehead area of baseball caps in summer,
and knit hats in winter.
- Wind Briefs. Although mentioned many times in this group, they're great,
especially for cycling. I don't know how I ever rode the bike in winter
before - (well yea with an extra hat stuffed down my pants before - that's
how).
